This tag was created by Girl Reading, and it’s some quick bookish questions.
While I wasn’t tagged directly, I took full advantage of the open invitation extended by Christine at Purple Manatees to participate.
E-Book or Physical Book?
I do read e-books because they’re conveniently portable and that’s how most ARCs are provided, but physical books will always have my heart.
Paperback or Hardback?
I’m all about the hardback books. They’re much more durable.
Online or In-Store Book Shopping?
I’m all about the immediate gratification, so I prefer in-store book shopping, although online shopping usually means better deals.
Trilogies or Series?
I have a hard time letting go of characters, so series are my favorite.
Heroes or Villains?
Usually the heroes. The villains in the books I read tend to be so evil that I have a hard time rooting for them.
A book you want everyone to read?
Get a Life, Chloe Brown by Talia Hibbert. It’s seriously amazing!
Recommend an underrated book?
Rivers of London/Midnight Riot by Ben Aaronovitch. It reminds me of Harry Potter — if HP didn’t realize he was a wizard until adulthood, when he was a member of the Metropolitan Police in London.
The last book you finished?
The last book I read was War Storm by Victoria Aveyard.
The Last Book You Bought?
That would be Scavenge the Stars by Tara Sim.
Weirdest Thing You’ve Used as a Bookmark?
I have been known to use tissues, toilet paper, and junk mail.
Used Books: Yes or No?
I have nothing against used books, as long as they’re in good condition and don’t smell funny.
Top Three Favorite Genres?
YA fantasy, historical fiction, and adult fantasy.
Borrow or Buy?
I’d love to buy books more often, but I go to the library regularly to borrow books.
Characters or Plot?
Always the plot, but it has to have characters I like too.
Long or Short Books?
I like big books and I cannot lie. Definitely long books.
Long or Short Chapters?
Short chapters. It makes it easy to lie and tell myself I’ll only read one more chapter.
Name The First Three Books You Think Of:
King of Scars
Moon Over Soho
Bear and the Nightingale
Books That Makes You Laugh or Cry?
I adore books that make me laugh! I also hate crying, so that was an easy answer.
Our World or Fictional Worlds?
I like either, but I’m just getting into urban fantasy which is a mix of both worlds!
Audiobooks: Yes or No?
Nope. I can’t focus on an audiobook, and I have a tendency to completely miss everything that’s said.
Do You Ever Judge a Book by its Cover?
Hell yeah I do! Pretty book covers draw my attention much easier.
Book to Movie or Book to TV Adaptations?
Meh. I am a book purist, although if I was forced to choose, I’d go with TV adaptations.
A Movie or TV-Show You Preferred to its Book?
Lord of the Rings. I couldn’t get into the books at all, but the movies were great!
Series or Standalones?
SERIES, hands down!
