May 2020 Monthly Wrap Up

May 2020 Monthly Wrap Up

2020 is shaping up to be a truly difficult year. Each month has been harder than the last, and May was rough on so many levels. I’ve continued to find comfort and escape in reading, both from stressful events in the world and in my personal life.

I’ve been writing my reviews pretty regularly, but I haven’t posted all of them yet (as usual). I'm really planning to work on that in June, and will hopefully be better about organizing my posts and actually scheduling them more than an hour in advance.

Before I get into anything about my month, I want to take a minute to address what's going on in the United States, and bring up an issue that is really important: the ongoing fight for equality that is STILL going on in my country. While I don't have a big following, I still feel that it is my duty as a human being to share and amplify the message, so I'm asking you to click this link to help the Black Lives Matter movement in any way you can. This can include attending protests, signing petitions, donating, sharing information, or just educating yourself. Whatever you're able to do. We can all do better and make this world a better, safer place.

It was hard to pick a favorite book for May 2020 — but highlights included The Hunger Games series and House of Earth and Blood by Sarah J. Maas

How was your May, as far as reading goes? I know everyone is affected differently, but if you need to talk/vent/anything, you can reach out through this site, or you can find me on twitter, at @Leahs_books. Here's to hoping things start looking up in June.
