It’s Friday, which means it’s time for another Friday Favorites post! This awesome idea comes from the blog Something of the Book. There’s a different prompt each week, and I get to post my favorites for that topic. This week’s topic is hyped books, and I’ve gotten to read a few hyped books recently that I really enjoyed. Here are my favorites:
Where the Crawdads Sing by Delia Owens – I waited for two months until I could get my hands on this book through my library, and it was totally worth the wait. I definitely get emotionally invested in characters in books, but this book took the cake. I absolutely loved this book, which was an incredible combination of a coming of age story, romance, and murder mystery. You can see my review here.
A Gentleman in Moscow by Amor Towles – I had heard about how great this book was, but didn’t really know much about it. I still took it out of the library (I really love the library, if you couldn’t tell), and while it was a bit slow in the beginning, it really grew on me. The characters were endearing and witty, and I truly enjoyed this book. I wrote a review on this book too, which you can find here.
The Cruel Prince and The Wicked King by Holly Black – For me, a hyped book list is really complete without these books on it, especially with The Queen of Nothing coming out in just a few days. I’ve only recently started reading both YA books and fantasy books, but this series has quickly become a favorite of mine. I liked the characters, the dark tone of the books, and the beautiful way it’s written. Here are my reviews for The Cruel Prince and The Wicked King.
What are your favorite hyped books?
