It’s Friday, which means it’s time for another Friday Favorites post! This awesome idea comes from the blog Something of the Book. There’s a different prompt each week, and I pick my favorites for that topic. This week’s topic is Favorite Book Covers of 2019.
I am definitely not one to judge a book by it’s cover, but there have been some books put out in 2019 that had beautiful covers. As usual, I struggled to pick just one favorite. Instead, I’ve listed a few favorites that were chosen from different genres. Here they are (in no particular order):
Awa and the Dreamrealm by Isa Pearl Ritchie
I don’t really think I need to explain why I picked this cover. Just look at it! It’s such a visually beautiful book cover. The book itself was really good also, and while I haven’t read any MG books since I was actually a kid, I definitely don’t remember them being this good back then.
Hook by Gina L. Maxwell
I’m just going to be blunt here – I picked this cover because Hook is HOT! The guy on the cover is the stuff dreams are made of … at least my dreams are made of this stuff. But this book is more than just a pretty cover, it’s got so much substance that I’d have read it if the cover was just a solid shade. I’m glad the cover is pretty to look at though.
The Queen of Nothing by Holly Black
This cover was simple but beautiful. I loved how each of the images on the cover represented something that was relevant to the plot. And boy, what a plot that book had! If you haven’t read this book (or the series), and you’re into YA fantasy, you should really start reading this immediately.
These are some of my favorite book covers of 2019, but I’m always ready to hear about your favorites. Especially if it’s one I haven’t read and can add to my TBR list!
