Today is day 10 of the Bookish New Year’s Challenge from Tabatha at Broken Soul Reviews. I really like this challenge, because it gives me a chance to write some quick blog posts and switch up my routine. Today’s prompt is about blogger organization.
I jumped into blogging without too much planning. I tend to be a somewhat impulsive person, and I didn’t quite realize exactly how much work and planning goes into blogging. I learned about the importance of organization very quickly though.
I started out by tracking the books I was reading on a sheet of paper in a notebook, but it wasn't very convenient at all. In December, I created a spreadsheet to track more detailed stats for my monthly wrap ups. I refined the spreadsheet for 2020, since it’s the first time I’m actually planning to track stats from the beginning of the year. I also use a spreadsheet to track due dates for book reviews, and whether I’ve actually posted the reviews yet.
At the beginning of the month, I write out a list of the books I plan to read on a sheet of paper and check them off as I read them. I like having a visual aid to see what I’ve got to read and what I’ve already read. It’s kind of like a to-do list for the month. Plus, checking off the books gives me a sense of accomplishment! I’m also a huge fan of Goodreads to keep track of the books I want to read and the progress I’m making on my yearly challenge. It’s also a great way to make sure my TBR list keeps growing out of control.
How do you stay organized?
